John Lucas, Patriot - Sons Of The American Revolution
John Lucas (1755-1830) was a Patriot of the American Revolution. He faced the opposition of the Tories when he applied for a land grant in 1778 in Dobbs County, North Carolina. He assumed great risk from the Tories when he voted in the 1779 Dobbs County election.
The certificate indicates the first recognition of the acts of patriotism by John Lucas by the Sons of the American Revolution.
Any male who descends in the Lucas line from John Lucas is now eligible to join the Sons of the American Revolution.
